I am back to being able to stand up straight; my neck pains have disappeared, all thanks to the magic hands of my fantastic NLP chiropractor, Guy Blomfield, who is the most amazing chap and through personal recommendations now looks after almost half of the hotel team and puts us back together again when all the aches and pains get too bad… Thank you, Guy, I’m not sure how you do it, but you are a ‘miracle man’.
Whilst thanking people this week, (well it is the season of good will), I would also like to bid a very fond farewell to Mike Lanigan, who for the past three and half years has worked tirelessly on our behalf to ensure that the hotel’s website is always up to date, topical, informative and overflowing with details and information about TerraVina. However, Mike spends much of his time in Venice; in fact, he is treating the Venetians to a traditional British pantomime this year; what a treat, which I am sure they will greatly enjoy, but you can only wonder how they will react to the panto antics, the villain of the piece and, of course, the principal boy actually being a girl and all of the “He’s behind you” and “Oh, no, he isn’t” shouting… interesting! Thus we are bidding Mike a fond Au Revoir and I am taking on the task of keeping the website up-to-date. Now I am not the most computer savvy, nor do I really understand about meta tags, links and the like, thus I do hope Mike keeps his patience when I ask him to explain it all just one more time! A huge thank you, Mike, for all your hard work over the years – we will miss your valuable input, but we are looking forward to welcoming you often to TerraVina as a great friend.
I played truant on Tuesday and took my god-daughter (she’s a very adorable three year old) to see Santa at Paultons Park. My son, Romané came too and we had a truly magical time. We have gone to Paultons Park every Christmas since Romané was born, as each year they have a winter wonderland which is truly amazing. I am always just as excited as the children and marvel at how spectacular the wonderland is. Of course, this year there was the added attraction of Peppa Pig World (opened in the Spring of this year); and so we spent a super day enjoying the rides, the attractions and the Christmas festivities, including feeding the penguins… The joy of having a three year old god daughter is that I can indulge all of my pink and fluffy tendencies, which of course Romané does not appreciate! And it is a great excuse to still be able to go to visit Santa and the panto, which I am off to on Wednesday evening, Jack and the Beanstalk. I will be just as excited as the children. All in all seeing Christmas and the magic it holds for children makes it a very special time of year.
On that note, Gerard and I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Super 2012, when we hope to welcome many of you back to TerraVina.
Till next year!
