As regular readers of my blog may remember we have been in various TV shows, both during the days of Hotel du Vin and since the opening of TerraVina. During TerraVina’s lifetime, first there was a guest appearance in Hotel Inspector, when the hotel across the lane was being featured. It was during our extensive renovation and refurbishment, so the hotel was a building site and Gerard and I are seen in hard hats and hobnail boots. We had great fun filming and very much enjoyed the day and the whole filming process. Then there was a programme called “Secrets of our Success”, which detailed aspects of our lives at Hotel du Vin, what we did after the sale of the group and then all about TerraVina- again the filming was fun, different and gave a great insight into a different and fascinating world that is TV. The hotel itself was then used as a filming location on Gok Wan’s “How to Look Good Naked” (they filmed in our restaurant) and we have of course had the first episode of TerraVina TV filmed and rolled on You Tube…. In fact the next installment is very close to being “wrapped” as the film and TV people would say and so will be appearing on a screen near you very soon, but before that, you can see our very own Head Sommelier extraordinaire, Laura Rhys, appear in an episode of Michel Roux’s Service TV show, (now showing on BBC 2).

Laura made her appearance on January 25th and she was great and then Gerard will be featured in an episode on February 2nd. Both of them are giving a master class to the young students who are all competing against each other and are hopeful of a scholarship, for the best two students at the end of the series…we have all been watching the shiow avidly and will all be tuned in for this week’s final. Look out for the next installment of TerraVina TV too- I’ll make sure we mention the launch date in a forthcoming blog.
