I try very hard not to use the hotels blog as a direct marketing tool, believing that people hopefully enjoy reading the blog merely because it’s a snippet of news about TerraVina and the team and a glimpse into hotel life. Thus I resist suggestions to add in lots of links to our website, mentions of special offers that we have devised or mentions of wine events that we have planned… that said we do have plenty to offer, of all of these, all through the year and for those who do not regularly do so, it is always worth checking on the website as we hope that we bring a variety, great value and interesting range of offers, events and reasons to come back and visit us….. so it turns out I will have kept the marketing chaps happy and have mentioned all the things they wanted me to link to anyway!

TerraVina at Christmas looks pretty, twinkly and full of sparkles. The decorations are up, (of course they are orange!), the lunchtime pre-Christmas menu has been launched and we are slowly getting into the festive spirit, especially the chefs who all seem to be humming Christmas songs and carols; not necessarily tunefully, but quite nice none the less, as it brings a sense of even more good cheer than usual about the place.

The forest remains beautiful, even with the colder weather that has arrived… we are tempting guests with creamy hot chocolate, marshmallows and cookies and cosy rooms to while away the winter afternoons. Laura has devised exclusive Christmas Wine Boxes which are ideal for presents or to take the stress away from choosing wines for Christmas and the TerraVina shopping corner is heaving with lovely gifts, dogs and gorgeous scented candles, room oils and goodies galore- thus you can come to stay, shop for all your Christmas presents and organise the Christmas lunch wines all in the comfort of TerraVina, with a glass of Champagne at hand- Christmas bliss!

I’m off to taste test the hot chocolates, cookies and marshmallows….. all in te interest of research of course!
