The ever popular annual New Forest Show took place on our forest doorstep last week; it was a triumph and the sun shone brightly for the whole 3 day event. The Queen and Prince Phillip ended their Diamond Jubilee celebrations at the show on Wednesday and on Thursday, Ladies Day, Hotel TerraVina were the proud organizers of a Laura Rhys tutored wine tasting, which was immensely popular. I judged the Best Dressed Lady competition along with Vivien Sheriff, hat maker to the Royals, who judged Best hat and Richard Frampton, a charming and very jolly chap, who judged Best Dressed couple- Ladies Day was sponsored by Granite Transformations, a Lymington based business who we have worked with on many previous occasions. Our very own Mandy Pearce, our Business Development lady was one of the main organizers of the Ladies Day Event and she did a brilliant job.
In the same week, we celebrated our 5th Birthday with a fantastic cocktail party, organized by Tanguy our assistant sommelier, which was greatly enjoyed by all- we had Pisco Sours, Old Fashioned, Brambles and Grey Goose Fizz to name but a few, which went very well with the delicious home made pizzas and empanadas that Marcelo our Chilean Sommelier, (he is also a trained chef), made for the evening- to go with the home made ice cream and cones (with all important sprinkles!) we had Lemontini and Espresso Martininis along with a number of other Whisky based cocktails such as Whisky Sours- all were delicious and ensured the evening went with a swing.
This week is a little calmer, but no hats and high heels!
Till next week
