Having almost missed our connecting flight on our way to Chile and Gerard’s world championship…. not our fault, but rather a mix up with boarding passes, we have embarked on further far flung adventures. This time we have flown to Singapore, en famille. None of us have been to Singapore before and so we are very excited to be here.
We have much planned, including meeting friends and wine colleagues, visiting the zoo and going on a night safari (in the middle of the city?), visiting the beautiful Botanical Gardens and of course a trip to Raffles Hotel, where we are going to sip Singapore Sling cocktails, (we promised Laurent, our own TerraVina cocktail maestro that we would) we might also indulge in their famous afternoon teas too.
Having been in the hospitality industry for so many years… in fact, sadly too many to convince anyone that I am much younger than I look, it has always been an ambition to visit Singapore and experience the level of high quality service and hospitality that is synonymous with the place. I am hoping that as a market research exercise, we will return invigorated by the emphasis on customers, quality, professionalism and service. Gerard and I are lucky to travel extensively- well, Gerard does much more travelling than me, as he does so much less work than I do!! However, whenever we return from a fact finding trip, it is always with fresh ideas that we can borrow, adapt and include in what we do here at TerraVina, so look out for our Asian inspirations once we are home and back in situ at TerraVina.
See you soon
