California Wine Country Restaurant in the New Forest

This is a stylish,‘sexy’ restaurant that redefines the hotel dining experience... where better for a private dinner to celebrate a special occasion at an hotel that's always making news. Open to non-residents.

Please note the restaurant will only be open until 25th February 2018, when therafter it will be closed from 26th Feb to 5th march 2018 for refurbishment and will then re-open as an all day kitchen cafe, with no dinners being served from 5th March onwards.


Under the guidance of Gavin Barnes, Head Chef, the menu at Hotel TerraVina is a delicious option for lunch, dinner, or how about Sunday lunch, in the New Forest and you can even pop in for breakfast. Many would regard Hotel TerraVina as a chic restaurant with stylish rooms in the New Forest. In fact, there can be few restaurants in Southampton, Winchester or the New Forest that can compare with this California-style gem (see for yourself in our virtual tour). Even The Times featured the TerraVina restaurant in its Eat Out in James Bond Style article and the restaurant won a Rémy Martin Restaurant Award for the South East of England. It was their love of California wine country restaurants that inspired Nina to design and create a place that epitomizes dining out in the sunshine state. The ‘open kitchen’ is a superb feature. Have you ever tried a Sunday roast cooked in a wood burning oven? It’s almost as though the food is cooked at your table; no long walk from kitchen to table here.

One side of the restaurant opens out onto a wonderful veranda for al fresco breakfast, lunch or early dinners when the weather is warm. If it’s not, the wood burning stove creates a warm and cosy environment.

We use fresh, free-range and organic produce from local New Forest suppliers, wherever possible, cooked with distinct flavours.

As you might expect, wine is always a key element of dining at Hotel TerraVina. Our sommeliers will advise on the most appropriate wines and, once you’ve decided, will be eager for your comments. Hotel TerraVina is also particularly noted for wine events in the New Forest and cocktails in the New Forest.
