Laura Rhys was recently winner of the 'Young UK Sommelier of the Year, Chaine des Rotisseurs'. Tonight, Laura will present the wines that she has selected to complement a menu she has designed with our Head Chef.

Laura Rhys graduated from Uwic (Cardiff) University in 2004 with a BA ‘Honours’ in International Hospitality Management. After a short work experience in Italy, she joined the Hotel du Vin Winchester in October 2004 as Commis Sommelier. She was quickly promoted to Assistant to the Head Sommelier (then Claire Thevenot the UK Sommelier of Year 2006). She left Hotel du Vin Winchester in May 2007 to become Head Sommelier at Hotel TerraVina. Laura started four weeks before Hotel TerraVina opened to the public and therefore she has experienced the difficulties, excitement and the joy that an opening brings.

Special Sunday and Monday Night Rates
If you’d like to make the most of this enjoyable wine event, there’s a special rate for those attending of only £100 per bedroom (including full English breakfast) for the Sunday night.
You might also be tempted to stay Monday as well, in which case, we’ll make the temptation overwhelming with an offer of only £150.00 (including dinner, bed and full English breakfast) for the Monday evening.
The Sunday and Monday night rates are only available to those who attend the Laura Rhys evening and include VAT but do not include drinks and incidentals.
